Aims

This module focuses on current issues in the field of Software Engineering. The module will involve students in an examination of current research literature of interest to software engineers.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this module, students should:

be able to identify and use the main research resources that are available to Software Engineers (A3);
constructively participate in advanced technical debate in the field (A1);
have a general overview of the Software Engineering field and be aware of focused areas of research interest within it (A1, A2, A3);
know what issues are currently of interest to the Software Engineering community (A1);
be able to critique a current research paper in Software Engineering (A2);
be able to produce a survey paper of some current area of Software Engineering research (A3).
