Brief description
A major project which arises out of the main core module and consists of a public exhibit designed, made and appraised by the student under tutoral supervision in relation to professional requirements.
Aims:
The aim of the module is to:
-
provide experience in the production of an artwork under the conditions of professional practice
-
present concepts such as: working to deadlines. working methodology, finding a client, client-artist relations and jointly establishing parameters of operation, and devising and installing/presenting site/context specific artworks
-
engender professional standards in the conduct of the artists and the presentation of the artwork
-
provide an opportunity for the students to apply ideas and technical skills in a manner that may be a tangent to their practice in other modules.
Objectives:
At the end of the module the student will have:

produced an artwork (either an individual or composite piece) that has been wrought to particular specifications of patron, purpose and place
-
a body of preliminary materials such as correspondence with clients, statements of purpose, budget sheets, and a statement of evaluation, documentary evidence of work in progress
-
a completed artwork, appropriately displayed (according to the demands and conventions of the medium and accepted forms of presentation) that is installed/available at a site viewed by staff and examiners.
