Terminal objective:
to understand why there are a range of environmental management activities which all fall under the generalised heading of "environmental audit".
Aims
This module will provide you with an understanding of the range of different subjects covered by environmental audits and what is entailed by each of the audit types. To place these audits types in context with the overall environmental management process, a general description of an environmental management system is given. The different types of audit all follow a standardised approach and, therefore, this generalised audit procedure is also described. Once you are aware of the different types of environmental audit, you will be in a better position to understand how to assess the overall impact that an organisation has upon the environment.
