On completion of this module, students will be able to

Brief description

This core module will introduce students to a range of techniques used in chemical and isotopic studies of the environment. This will include an introduction to sampling methods and sampling preparation of organic and inorganic environmental media. This will be followed by an introduction to the range of methods currently used for determining the composition and age of environmental materials. As a core module this course will ensure all students have some exposure to the range of these techniques. These sessions will provide a foundation for more specialised optional modules.
