Learning outcomes

On completion of this moduel, students will be able to

search for data on the WWW
download data from the WWW
incorporate downloaded material in spreadsheets, databases, word processing and presentation packages, other web pages
access on-line academic literature
analyse data via spreadsheets
synthesise information from a variety of sources
produce a formal research paper
construct WWW page and present ideas in that format
present an oral presentation supported by computerised presentation packages.

Brief description

Students will develop key skills in C&IT via two projects, which will investigate contemporary research problems in Quaternary science.
