Learning outcomes

On completion of this module students should have consolidated their oral and written skills in French and have developed these to a level comparable with a high 'A' level grade. They should have developed confidence in their abillity to communicate in the target language, both in speech and in a variety of written registers.

Brief description

The module is intended for students with an AS level (or equivalent qualification) in French, an increasing number of whom will be entering university from 2002. It is tailored to the specific linguistic competence of these students, providing revision and consilidation of AS level work, while it aims to move them forward towards a high 'A' level competency. Together with FR11520, the module is designed to stimulate the number of students following an Honours degree in French.
