Learning outcomes

On completion of this module, students will be acquainted with the main themes of the Renaissance in Europe, the Reformation and Wars of Religion in France and the importance of the writings of Montaigne (1533-1592).

Brief description

An introduction to the Renaissance in France and a detailed study of a selection of the essays of Michel de Montaigne.
