Learning outcomes

Outcome 1

Operate a fork lift truck safely and efficiently.

Performance criteria:
a. As laid down by the National Proficiency Test Council, Fork Lift Truck training manual (National qualification).

Range:
Telescopic mast Manitou Rough Terrain Fork Lift Truck.
Outcome 2

Recognise the importance of following Ministry and Manufacturers' guidelines for a crop spraying operation.

Performance criteria:
a. As laid down by FEPA 1985 and Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986 foundation module PA1 (National qualification).

Range:
Using approved pesticides.

Outcome 3

Carry out a crop spraying operation to include machine testing, calibration, field operation and machine cleaning.

Performance criteria:
A. As laid down by FEPA 1985 and Code of Practrice Regulations 1986. Application Test PA2a, tractor mounted sprayer, hydraulic nozzle.

Range:
Using approved pesticides through a Hardi LX600 crop sprayer.

Brief description

Legislation requires that people working in the industry who are required to use Fork Lift Trucks or apply pesticides must be trained and certified to do so. This module offers the opportunity to gain Rough Terrain Telescopic Mast Fork Lift Truck Operator's certificate and also FEPA PA1 and PA2 certificates.
