i) researching and summarising specific topics of interest to them;
ii) presenting their summaries in the form of a seminar;
iii) submitting a written summary on their review of the subject;
iv) posing and answering questions following the seminar.
It comprises 11 x 3hr sessions each devoted to three individual seminars. The students are briefed by Week 6 of Semester 1 and a timetable drawn up, with students being allocated their first topic. They are expected to choose their second topic within three weeks of the beginning of Semester 2. They are provided with appropriate feedback after the first seminar has been delivered. Each seminar should last for approximately 20 minutes, after which general discussion takes place. All students are expected to attend and to contribute fully to the discussion of each topic.

Students will use Powerpoint and a range of visual media in presenting their seminars.
.4 Writing in an academic context
Seminar summaries and a full bibliography are required.
.7 Self-management
Students will be obliged to manage their own time in developing their seminars.
