Brief description

An induction course for post A-level students at level 1 in the culture, politics and social concerns of contemporary Spain that is based upon a progressive use of authentic materials, especially the internet, and is conducted entirely in the target language of Spanish. The course is structured around the cultural investigation into the make-up of contemporary Spain by means of a 'virtual tour' of Spain that allows students to develop their knowledge and understanding of the pluralist nature of modern Spain in a series of debates, presentations and written and oral exercises.

Aims

This module aims to provide a practical and interactive introduction to the vast range of Hispanic resources available on the internet and proceeds to guide students through a creative and selective approach to utilising the internet in such activities as research, the writing of presentations, reports and debates, and the acquirement of both general and specific knowledge of themes relating to contemporary Spain.
