Aims

To provide students with advanced editorial and practical skills required in the production of a broadcast quality television factual programme. (10-15 minutes)
This module will encourage producer-directors to work collaboratively mastering the digital technology to an acceptable broadcast standard and build upon the pre-requisite TF31420 Factual Production Research. The module allows the students to produce two short team films in semester one to practise the technical skills of camerawork, lighting, sound recording and digital editing and to familiarise students with common factual directing techniques. Students will then create their final films in groups of two or three in the second semester based on the research portfolio produced in TF31420.

Brief description

Students are asked to work as co-producers or in threes

A technical team is assigned to each group so they can offer mutual support through the production process.

Production Managers are requested to log hours spent in the edit suite. A record is kept of attendance at seminars and tutorials.

A record is kept of complaints received indicating that members of the team are contributing fully. A team working contract is agreed during the first lecture.
