Assessment Semester Assessment   In each case, the project must contain a critical commentary on the student's own poetics and/or writing practice (approx 1500-200 words) with any relevant bibliographical details The Writing Project, overall word limit: 5000-7000 words. This may consist of: - a substantial collection (25-30) of poems - short fiction, eg, a substantial novella of 4000 words or two shorter novellas or one novella and short stories, experimental pieces, tales - a collection of poetry and short fiction - a completed screenplay   100%

Brief description

The Writing Project is central to the English and Creative Writing degree and provides students with the opportunity for a sustained, long-term personal engagement with a major writing task. Students will have regualr workshops and tutorials on the project, six sessions in all, throughout the semester. All students will be expected to submit draft material for revision. The Writing Project must not reproduce work that has been or will be submitted for any other module on this degree scheme.

Aims

This module aims to provide students with the opportunity for a sustained, long-term personal engagement with a mahor writing task, and to enable them to demonstrate both their writing skills and their ability to reflect critically on their own writing practice.

Content

There will 6 workshops and tutorials
