Brief description
The module gives students at Level 3 who wish to specialise in life studies the opportunity to work intensively from the figure to produce a body of work for exhibition.
Aims:
The module aims to:
-
provide the student with an experience of sustained visual study of the figure.
-
develop in the student an ability both to analyse the human form and to interpret that analysis according to the individual?s conceptual rationale of art practice.
-
by means of an extended program of painting or drawing, to give the student the opportunity to resolve problems by intensive and renewed study.
-
promote an enhanced understanding of the creative potential of life studies within the framework of the student?s other art practice.
-
develop in the student a high level of proficiency in evaluating his/her own work both in relation to other students taking this module and to the work of other contemporary practitioners in the field.
-
provide the student with the experience of planning, preparing and staging a small exhibition of paintings and/or drawings of the life model.
-
encourage a high level of technical proficiency and finish in staging this exhibition
Objectives:

build on experience gained in Life Painting 1 and 2 and Life Drawing 1 and 2 of working from the nude.
-
