By the end of this Module, students should be able to:


Brief description

The Module centres on some of the most important functions of libraries and information units: to the effective use and exploitation of information sources, and the relevance of those sources to the design and delivery of modern, cost-effective information services. These functions have been widely affected by a diversity of electronic sources, and new modes of information delivery. While these may present new and attractive solutions, they may also present problems.

Aims

The overall aim of the Module is to enable students to:
foster an understanding of the range of information sources and services and the means by which they may be evaluated
