Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
Students will have covered all chapters in Espanol sin Fronteras (Nivel Elemental); Students should be able to communicate on a basic level in spoken and written Spanish; Students will have acquired a basic knowledge about language in general as well as a basic grasp of Spanish linguistic structures. Students will have been intriduced to the cultural context in which those Spanish structures are used.

Aims

Intended for absolute beginners and non-Arts students with little or no language-learning experience in any language. This module offers students an opportunity to study Spanish at university level, especially as an adjunct to their main studies, and to provide them with the vocational benefits that derive from knowledge of a major European and international language.

On completion of this module students will have acquired a foundation in the language, a grasp of its linguistic structures and familiarity with its common vocabulary and high-requency verbs (predominantly in the present tense). They should be able to comm.unicate at a basic level in spoken and written Spanish and handle the more typical situations of every life. They will have covered the course book Espanol sin fronteras (nivel elemental).
