Brief description

Following the project dissertation (PHM5010) and the project planning element of this module, the student will plan and carry out a project within one of the research groups active in the department under the supervision of the project supervisor. The results are to be interpreted and discussed in terms of the current knowledge of the research topic, and the work presented both orally and in a formal written report. An intensive residential course, held at Gregynog at the start of the semester, will be organised jointly by Physics staff in Aberystwyth, Swansea and Cardiff and will form part of this module. The course will include sessions on planning a project, communication and self management skills and structured group work on presenting and assessing projects.
