Performance criteria:
a. Describe the main objectives of the development of rural tourism enterprises
b. Explain how the features of the development match the objectives
c. Identify the sources of funding for the developments
d. Explain how rural tourism enterprises market and promote their products

Brief description

This student-centred module involves a field course and/or series of visits where selected rural tourism enterprises are critically examined. Field reports on selected rural tourism enterprises are prepared. Students will identify their information requirements through a combination of documentary and interview material.   

The module integrates the core subjects of the first year programme and enables students to study the rural tourism industry at first hand.

THIS MODULE INCLUDES A STUDY TOUR FOR WHICH THERE WILL BE A COST TO STUDENTS.
