Aims

The module will provide students with the opportunity to research and present two seminars. Seminar 1 will be on a specified subject, the second will be a subject of the students' own choice.

Content

This module is normally open only to IRS students.

It comprises 11 x 3hr sessions each devoted to three individual seminars. Students are briefed by Week 6 of Semester 1, a seminar timetable drawn up and first topics allocated. Students are expected to choose their second topic within three weeks of the beginning of Semester 2 and have it approved by the group facilitator.   Appropriate feedback is provided after the first seminar has been delivered. Each seminar should last for approximately 20 minutes, after which general discussion takes place. All students are expected to attend and to contribute fully to the discussion of each topic.

Module Skills

Research skills Students will be required to undertake research in preparation for each of two individual seminar presentations.
