In each case, the student will work on specific advanced GIS/remote sensing techniques that have direct commercial use or benefit pure or applications research and development. Each student will be allocated with a dedicated supervisor for the duration of the placement.
For each placement, students will be given a specified and mutually agreed GIS/remote sensing application problem, which they will address through individual research and teamwork within the organisation supporting the placement. Each poroject will have a commercial and/or research emphasis.
Students will provide a portofolio of their work and present a 15 minute seminar on their work experience at the end of the period. The Employer will provide a report on the performance of the student.
