Performance criteria:

c. Explain the nature of facilities and activities involved in rural tourism.

Assess how the public, private and voluntary sectors interact with the rural tourism industry.

a. Analyse the role of the public, private and voluntary sectors in rural tourism planning.

c. Analyse the role of the public, private and voluntary sectors in the promotion of rural tourism.

Identify and analyse the concept of sustainability in rural tourism management.

Brief description

This module addresses the theoretical and practical nature of management in rural tourism within the UK and European countries. The module analyses the demand and supply relationship within rural tourism and assesses the various approaches to the management of the rural tourism resource.
