1. Researching and summarising specific topics of interest to them;
2. Presenting their summaries in the form of a seminar;
3. Submitting a written summary on their review of the subject;
4. Posing and answering questions following the seminar.
THE NATURE OF THIS MODULE PRECLUDES HONOURS RESITS DURING THE AUGUST SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMINATION PERIOD. RE-ASSESSMENT WILL TAKE PLACE WHEN THE MODULE IS NEXT DELIVERED, IE SEMESTER 2 OF THE FOLLOWING ACADEMIC YEAR
| Research skills | Students will be required to undertake research in preparation for each of two individual seminar presentations. | ||
| Communication | Students will be required to prepare and deliver two seminar presentations supported by a brief summary paper and a full bibliography. These activities will be assessed and feedback provided. | ||
| Improving own Learning and Performance | Students will receive feedback on their first seminar and will be expected to reflect and take appropriate action to improve performance where necessary. | ||
| Information Technology | Students will be expected to use PowerPoint and a range of visual media in presenting their seminars. | ||
