Aims

The work experience module is designed to allow students to use 50 hours of paid or voluntary work as an opportunity for self-development and to improve employment prospects. The module begins with students identifying possible work experiences and examining personal skills, strengths and weaknesses. The module continues with the work experience, leading to the submission of a portfolio of material which will form the assessment. The work experience can be in any type of employment and can take place at any time, in term time or vacation, between the end of the first year and the end of the second year. The module is fully supported by on-line resources to allow contact and guidance to be maintained whenever and wherever the work.
