This course promotes the study of Art and Art History as a fundamental tool in the education of the artist and is taught from the view point and needs of an artist. Topics covered will include the importance of drawing, use of colour, chiaroscuro, perspective and 2 dimensional space. It introduces the history of representation up to and including the arrival of abstraction. No previous knowledge of Art History is required. This isa a key course on the 'Certificate of Art & Design' and ideally should be taken before other Art History courses.
