Co-ordinator Mrs Alison Pierse
Semester Semester 1

Brief description

This module is intended for those with some experience of life drawing and who wish to create figurative picture making. The various approaches to the use of the nude in the Western tradition, from the Renaissance to the present day, will be investigated historically, along-side practical study. The three fundamental interpretations of the nude: the real, the ideal and the imagined, will also be used in order to investigate how meaning can be communicated by the use of the nude within a structured composition.
