Building on the employment law parts of LPM0140, the module covers advising clients, both employers and employees, on the relevant law and procedure concerning employment matters. It deals with the skills necessary to draft and complete a contract of employment and to advise the employer and employee on individual terms with particular attention to hours of work, remuneration, statutory rights and other contractual benefits. Finally it considers the issues raised when an employment contract is brought to an end through dismissal or redundancy and the factors pertaining to bringing and defending claims before an Employment Tribunal.
