Image descriptions for the images on the homepage.

In the top left-hand corner of the screen is aberlogo.gif, the Aberystwyth University logo. On the left of the picture is the University's coat of arms. To the right is the University's full name in Welsh and English.

Running down the right of the screen are five pictures acting as links to featured pages. From the top down these are:

(1) Research.jpg acts as a link to the research main page. This image changes every 20 mins to feature another parasite.

(2) Teaching.jpg acts as a link to the teaching notes. This picture shows a red coloured monogenean parasite running diagonally down the page. The parasite is oval in shape and comes to a sharp drawn-out point to the base of the image. At the blunt end of the oval are eight tentacles like structures.

(3) Proteom.jpg acts as a link to the proteomics tutorial. This image shows two scientists wearing white lab coats and standing in a lab. They are holding a gel up to the light to see the protein spots on it.

(4) ProteinI.jpg acts as a link to the protein identification tutorial. This picture shows a protein structure represented as a ribbon backbone. The bulk of the ribbon is coiled and red in colour and forms a globular structure.

(5) Schisto.jpg acts as a link to SchistoSim and shows a computer keyboard.
