ABERYSTWYTH POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH STUDENTSHIP (APRS) COMPETITION 2010 APPLICATION DEADLINE: 1st March 2010

The competition for these prestigious research studentships is now open to all UK and other EU students who wish to study for a full-time PhD in any of the following departments at Aberystwyth University:
To be eligible you must be a UK or other EU fee payer, to have or expect to obtain at least upper second class honours in your first degree and to apply and be offered a place for doctoral study at Aberystwyth. There will be twelve awards available and successful applicants will receive a grant for up to three years which will cover their tuition fees (worth £3390 per annum) and also provide them with a maintenance allowance of about £13,290 per annum. Furthermore, they will be given access to a travel and conference fund. The deadline for the 2010 competition is 1st March 2010. N.B. Some departments have earlier deadlines (e.g. Department of International Politics & Institute of Geography & Earth Scineces- 29th January 2010).
The application to study for a PhD must be received by the relevant closing date. There are no additional forms for applicants to complete for this competition. Decisions will be based on the application to study for a PhD and the nomination by the relevant department. Selection for the above awards will be based on the application for admission, including research proposal and two academic references. The regulations and criteria pertaining to these studentships may be accessed from this page. These regulations are subject to annual review and you should note that there could be amendments for the 2010 competition.
