There are approximately 2000 University-owned or controlled car parking spaces in Aberystwyth. The University Traffic and Parking Regulations act as a necessary management tool in a society where there are more vehicles than car parking spaces. All vehicles that park on campus must display a valid parking permit or a valid pay and display parking ticket. More parking permits will be issued on the presumption that everybody does not bring their car to work every day.

Who is eligible to apply for a parking permit?

  • Members of staff
  • Students that live in campus residences
  • Commuting students that live more than 3 miles outside Aberystwyth.
  • Members of the Sports Centre 300 club.

Parking permit applications from students that reside in Aberystwyth and the surrounding area will not be considered, with such students being expected to walk or use public transport.
