Confidential Waste
If your department does not have its own shredder or there is a large amount of material you need to destroy, the University operates a confidential waste service.
- Confidential waste sacks are available from your local Caretaker or by
arrangement with the House Services Officers on extension 2822 or 8519
- Sacks should not be filled more than ¾ full. When filled they should tied securely with the plastic tag provided
- Contact your local caretaker to arrange collection and remember to keep confidential waste in a secure location at all times
- This service is costly and should only be used for material that is confidential
Surplus I.T. Equipment
House Services assists to maximise the reuse of redundant IT equipment by using disposal routes that result in the equipment being refurbished wherever possible - please refer to the disposal procedure for redundant I.T. equipment.
Other non-IT redundant equipment (e.g. from workshop or laboratory) is the responsibility of your department to arrange for disposal.
