Steering Groups

WIN steering groups involve all nine Welsh universities and are aimed at supporting research and innovation collaboration centred around core strengths. Within these areas WIN steering groups will seek to find opportunities where, in partnership, they can address social, cultural, and economic challenges at a local, nation-wide, and global level.

The Health and Wellbeing steering group focuses on multi-disciplinary approaches to health and wellbeing challenges. The Health and Wellbeing steering group brings together expertise across all nine Welsh universities that focuses on effectively exploring collaborative opportunities and providing operational coordination among the universities in Wales on matters of health and wellbeing related research and innovation.

The steering group also has observers from Public Health Wales, Health and Care Research Wales and Life Sciences Hub Wales.

Net Zero and Decarbonisation Steering Group

AU Representative - Prof Jon Moorby

The WIN Net Zero and Decarbonisation steering group brings together expertise from across all nine Welsh universities including areas such as hydrogen, industry and steel, nuclear, social sciences, circular economy, livestock and farming, and future buildings and urban planning.

All-Wales Policing Academic Collaboration

Wales Arts and Humanities Alliance (WAHA)

The Wales Arts and Humanities Alliance provides a pan-Wales opportunity to build deeper and stronger partnerships, centred on the research and innovation excellence of higher education arts and humanities.

Technician’s Network Steering Group

The Technicians’ Network focuses on the enabling of best practice and collaboration to strengthen the research infrastructure in Wales as well as providing a forum and space to prompt institutional collaboration and skill sharing.
