Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module, students should be able to:

* Read elementary literary texts, and understand their place in the history of Irish literature;

*Demonstrate an understanding of some of the basic elements of the Old Irish language.

Brief description

This module is an introduction to the main features of Old Irish (c. 7th - 10th centuries) with study of some representatve and interesting texts. Students will be expected to prepare material on a weekly basis.
