On completion of this module, a student should be able to:
1. explain the notions of local and convected rates of change;
2. derive the equations governing the flow of an ideal fluid;
3. apply and solve the governing equations in specific situations.
This module introduces and develops the basic concepts of Classical Hydrodynamics and provides a framework for a modern appreciation of Fluid Mechanics.
To provide the basic framework for a modern appreciation of Fluid Dynamics. To introduce the basic concepts of Classical Hydrodynamics. To explain how mathematical modelling of fluid motion can help in the understanding of certain real world phenomena in applications such as meteorology and aerodynamics.
This module is at CQFW Level 5
