On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
Describe simple harmonic motion and answer elementary problems relating to simple harmonic oscillators.
Answer simple problems on wave propagation an effects.
give qualitative descriptions of wave phenomena.
This module aims to provide an understanding of simple oscillatory and wave motions. Emphasis is placed on developing problem-solving skills in theses areas. The syllabus concentrates on simple harmonic motion and its application to physical systems. The discusssion of waes covers simple mathematical treatment of wave propagation and effects. An introduction is give to wave phenomena including diffraction and interference.
This module is at CQFW Level 4
