Investigate the development of rural tourism enterprises

Identify the constraints and opportunities for rural tourism providers

Identify the economic, social and environmental impacts of rural tourism

Brief description

This student-centred module involves a field course and/or series of visits where selected rural tourism enterprises are critically examined. Field reports on selected rural tourism enterprises are prepared. Students will identify their information requirements through a combination of documentary and interview material.

The module integrates the core subjects of the first year programme and enables students to study the rural tourism industry at first hand.

THIS MODULE INCLUDES A STUDY TOUR FOR WHICH THERE WILL BE A COST TO STUDENTS.
