On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
1. Identify veterinary terminology.
2. Distinguish between sick and healthy animals on the basis of behavioural changes and by recording basic eiagnostic parameters (temperature, pulse and respiration).
3. Describe common systemic diseases of domestic livestock.
4. Discuss preventative control measures available for these diseases.
5. Apply knowledge of animal welfare to provide better environment for animals on a holding as well as during transport.
6. Administer first aid to an injured animal.
7. Write and convey reports on the condition of a sick animal.
