On completion of this module, student should be able to:
1. demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of a range of theories of writing
2. explore a range of writing practices from a variety of theoretical perspectives
3. produce their own writing and to reflect critically upon it
4. express themselves clearly in writing (assessed) and in speech (non-assessed)
Students will develop and explore a range of writing techniques, and draw upon a reservoir of theoretical ideas and literary texts to strengthen creative-critical practice.
This module aims to develop students' knowledge and understanding of a range of theories of writing and to enable them to explore a range of writing practices from a variety of theoretical perspectives. It also aims to develop students' ability to produce and present their own writing and their reflections on writing. By developing a self-reflexive writing practice, this module will prepare students for the Writing Project in the final semester.
