Wedi cwblhau'r modiwl dylai'r myfyrwyr fedru:

  1. Demonstrate a degree of proficiency in observational drawing from the life model
  2. Analyse the human form and interpret that analysis in the context of a the history of the discipline of figure-based drawing
  3. Evidence some understanding of the creative potential of life studies within the framework of the student’s broader art practice
  4. Evaluate their own work in relation to other students taking this module
  5. Handle a range of drawing media with a degree of dexterity
  6. Interact with others in individual and group tutorials
  7. Produce observational figure drawings independently of the class
  8. Undertake art historical research on the subject of the representation of the figure - considering use of mediums, poses, context and meanings ascribed to the subject

Disgrifiad cryno

Students start their life-class based art practice in this module, following a series of projects based around the life model. The type and length of pose is set by the tutor, and in the self-directed component - if required, by the student. Students will also conduct relevant art-historical research to inform their practice. The tutor will also encourage students to explore media and different approaches to drawing the figure.

Nod

This module is designed for students wishing to work in the life class at level 1. It is an option for those students with a particular interest in drawing the nude and forms the first part of a pathway in Life Studies.

Cynnwys

Life study sessions will take place in the drawing studio during periods of core studio time. Students are expected to bring the materials required for each session. The tutor determines the poses and context in which the following programme of study takes place. Students may also be expected to conduct a series of self-directed projects and art historical research related to their practice.
