Disgrifiad cryno
Have you ever wanted to illustrate a story? This module invites students to explore how ideas, narratives and characters can be developed and communicated through the creative synthesis of text and image. Building on foundational principles of visual storytelling, the module examines how images, typography and page design work together to guide the reader through a narrative. Students will also be introduced to the professional expectations, working methodologies and practical implications of print-based media. It is strongly recommended that students have completed either AR10420 Illustration: Foundations to Storytelling or AR24520/AR2460 Illustration:Worlds and Characters before taking this module.
Cynnwys
Through a series of lectures, workshops and seminars, students will be introduced to the core principles of sequential storytelling, including narrative structure, pacing, composition and the relationship between text and image. The module explores comics, page layouts, typography, bookbinding and professional print media processes. In response to set briefs, students will develop storyboards, roughs, dummy books and finished illustrations, culminating in the design of an e-book.
