  1. Demonstrate a critical understanding of the key principles of social and emotional development and the impact on learning
  2. Understand the link between social and emotional wellbeing and mental health in early childhood
  3. Identify key indicators of social and emotional development and use them to support children’s future learning, mental health and wellbeing.

Disgrifiad cryno

Advancing research recognises the critical foundation associated with social and emotional development and how children’s experiences in the early years shape learning, development, and future outcomes. A variety of determinants that hinder healthy development will be evaluated in combination with key-indicators of happy, healthy development. Practitioners need to be able to support children’s social and emotional learning and implement pedagogical methods to build and respond to a diverse and changing society. Cultivating lifelong skills and competencies in preparation for work, and to strengthen positive social functioning will be addressed by examining social trends and expectations. National and international policies will be explored and evaluated alongside theory and practice.
