Wedi cwblhau'r modiwl dylai'r myfyrwyr fedru:

Demonstrate an understanding of entry level pathways into the film industry and the considerations facing aspiring entrants into a chosen field of production.
Create a professional portfolio for employment, which identifies key actions for personal and professional development.
Demonstrate an understanding of how the markets and festivals work in the exploitation of film and develop marketing strategies in relation to short film promotion.

Disgrifiad cryno

This module aims to equip students with both the soft and practical skills needed for marketing themselves and their work within the film industry. You will audit your own current skill set and identify actionable steps to progress towards your desired career path over the final year of university. You will research the wide range of roles available within the film industry and current entry level pathways, as well as explore the current landscape of the film industry and any current challenges facing it.

Students will have the opportunity to develop their communication and networking skills, as well as practical skills, such as CV writing, applying for jobs and managing finances as a freelance worker. You will also learn how to market and promote your current and future work, gaining understanding of fundraising, film festivals and markets. You will explore how independent projects handle the sales and distribution process.

Cynnwys

This module is taught through a series of weekly, skills-focused lecture-workshops. Each week you will learn how to develop your professional portfolio, and be given opportunities to actively develop your personal communication and employability skills. You will create action plans based on research into entry level pathways into the film industry, in the department of your choice. You will also research and create marketing material for current and future filmmaking projects.

Addasrwydd a gwydnwch	Students will learn that learning is a lifelong endeavour through developing a professional portfolio framework that allows for adaptations and continued development throughout their careers. Increased communication skills will grow the confidence of individuals.
