Wedi cwblhau'r modiwl dylai'r myfyrwyr fedru:

  1. Demonstrate improvement in their linguistic skills and cultural knowledge.
  2. Communicate with some confidence on familiar routine and non-routine matters related to their interests and professional field. Exchange, check and confirm information, deal with less routine situations andexplain why something is a problem.
  3. Handle sustained social exchanges with a varied vocabulary, adapting their expression to the context.
  4. Express thoughts on more abstract, socio-cultural and cultural topics such as political viewpoints, historical events, current affairs, films, books, music,etc.
  5. Write in German for a variety of purposes and in a variety of registers. Convey information and ideas on abstract as well as concrete topics, check information, and ask about or explain problems with reasonable precision.
  6. Interpret and present information, developing an argument and demonstrating understanding of the key issues in the target language.
  7. Translate selected passages into and out of German.
  8. Identify and use different registers of spoken and written German.
  9. Express insights into key aspects of German-speaking society and culture.
  10. Demonstrate proficiency in German grammar and syntax, appropriate to level B1+ of the CEFR.

Disgrifiad cryno

This module is designed for students with previous knowledge of German. This module will consolidate and expand students' knowledge of the language and culture of the
German-speaking world. It covers material from level B1of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Students will achieve Common Reference Level B1+
(Independent User) by the end of the module. Teaching on this module will foreground the integrated study of the German language in its cultural contexts.

Nod

The aim of this module is to equip learners with a range of linguistic skills across all four language competencies - reading, writing, listening and speaking. Learners will focus on consolidating and developing the fundamentals of the language via familiar and unfamiliar concrete and abstract topics. Students will also integrate the study of the language with its cultural contexts. At the end of this module successful students will be prepared for intermediate-level German language courses.

Cynnwys

Students will cover material appropriate to level B1 of the CEFR. This will include developing translation, writing, oral and listening skills. Material covered will help students consolidate, refine and expand their knowledge and understanding of the language and culture of the German-speaking world. Class content will familiarise students with contemporary issues and debates in their language of study. Students will work towards being able to discuss and debate relevant social and cultural themes while advancing their communication skills, including their spoken and written expression in German.
