Wedi cwblhau'r modiwl dylai'r myfyrwyr fedru:

Secure and sustain a work placement for a required period (minimum of 10 days / 75 hours)
Demonstrate an applied understanding of criminological concepts and theories within a professional setting.
Critically evaluate the role, function, and operational context of the placement organisation.
Apply appropriate ethical principles, confidentiality and professional conduct in line with organisational expectations.
Demonstrate developed employability skills, including communication, problem-solving, teamwork and self-management
Produce reflective and analytical assessed work integrating academic literature with placement experience.

Disgrifiad cryno

This module provides students with the opportunity to apply criminological knowledge, research skills and theoretical perspectives within a professional setting(s). Through a substantial workplace placement (or multiple smaller placements) with relevant organisations—such as the police or crime prevention units, probation services or resettlement support services, victim support agencies, youth justice teams, prisons, housing, victim support agencies, NGOs/charities working with offenders, victims or vulnerable groups, academic or applied research teams or community safety partnerships—students will gain practical experience, enhance employability and critically reflect on the relationship between criminological theory and practice. Following training they would be expected to perform at least an allotted number of hours in volunteer or paid work. Placement(s) must be approved by the module co-ordinator before commencement. Students must have a designated workplace supervisor / point of contact at the organisation Students will also be encouraged to engage directly with the criminal justice sector in other capacities (e.g. conferences, site visits and shadowing opportunities).

Addasrwydd a gwydnwch	Securing a work-based placement and working within a professional setting will be challenging and require students to be flexible and patient in their approaches.
Cydlynu ag erail	All criminal justice agencies rely on team work so the module will necessarily enhance team working skills.
Cyfathrebu proffesiynol	Oral communication will be encouraged and developed during interactive seminar discussions and in their interactions with colleagues and/or clients in their work placement and assessed at the Student Conference. Written skills will be developed and assessed through the reflective portfolio
Datrys Problemau Creadigol	In the course of their placement they will have to solve many practical issues which will develop and enhance students’ critical and practical problem solving skills.
Gallu digidol	Searches of on-line electronic databases and journals will provide practice in IT skills. Depending on their placements students are also likely to encounter new database collation systems for client information.
Sgiliau Pwnc-benodol	The development of subject specific skills will be an aspect for each and every student but the content and breadth of these skills will vary depending on the placement.
Synnwyr byd go iawn	The placement will enable students to experience some of their criminological learnings in an applied context.
