Gwenno wins ‘Best of Wales’ Award

SMB Business and Management graduate Gwenno Llewelyn was awarded the ‘Best of Wales’ prize at the recent graduation ceremony.

 It is given to the student who displays excellence through business study in the Welsh language. Part of the prize is a six-week project placement with award sponsors ‘Best of Wales’ a provider of 4 and 5 star holiday cottages in Wales. Co-founder and Aberystwyth alumni Llion Pughe, said,

 “ We are delighted to be in a position where we can encourage Welsh business graduates to venture into business in Wales. Gwenno will now spend 6 weeks developing a new project with Best of Wales. We hope this experience at the beginning of her career will give her added confidence to proceed in to business.

 We strongly believe that the prosperity of the Welsh economy is dependent on producing wave after wave of new business people. More importantly, people who will return to their communities to create jobs. Aberystwyth University are perfectly positioned to produce these all important business people and as a passionate Welsh company, we will do everything we can to support that.”

 Lecturer in Business and Management Wyn Morris said,

 “Gwenno is a very worthy winner of the award for 2014. She has excelled in all aspects of her study through the Welsh language, showing analytical skills and insight invaluable to a future employer. She will be an asset to Best of Wales during her time with them, and I wish her the very best of luck with her future career.”
