What is AberForward?
AberForward provides a range of work-related training and work experience opportunities to Aberystwyth University students and recent graduates.

|AberForward Summer Scheme||
Who? 2nd year undergraduate students seeking to gain professional work experience and skills
What? 4-week, full-time paid work placement in a University academic or professional services department
When? Summer 2020How? 2nd year undergraduate students who have told us that they are undecided about their career ideas and/or have little or no work experience will be sent further details before Easter 2020. Enquiries and expressions of interest can be made to firstname.lastname@example.org. The recruitment process involves an online application form, shortlisting and placement matching (no interviews).
|AberForward Graduate Scheme||
Who? Recent graduates (undergraduate programmes) who are not working (or who are working but not yet in the kind of graduate level role they're seeking) who feel they would benefit from a period of graduate level work experience
What? 4-week, full-time paid work placement in a University academic or professional services department, plus career planning and job search skills workshops and 1:1 support
When? Spring 2020 (dates to be confirmed in Autumn 2019)
How? Recent graduates (undergraduate programmes) will be sent further details in Autumn 2019. Enquiries and expressions of interest can be made to email@example.com. The recruitment process involves an online application form, shortlisting and placement matching (no interviews).
Who? Current postgraduate research students (MPhil, MRes, PhD) seeking to gain work experience and transferable skills in a non-academic professional environment
What? Paid work experience and/or project work (up to 72 hours, to fit around studies) with a local employer
When? Various dates throughout the year
How? Postgraduate research students are invited to register their interest in the Scheme via an online form. The AberForward Team in the Careers Service will then keep them informed about relevant opportunities as and when these are negotiated with employers.
