Where do I start?
We know how hard it is to make decisions about your future - whenever you start thinking about them. This section of the website is designed to help you think through the process of making these decisions and to address key questions in a way which will work for you.
'Career' decisions are about more than just jobs - you need to know what you want out of life as a whole if you are to choose a job or career that will help you to achieve those goals.
To make good and well informed decisions, you will need to know who you (really) are, what options you have, how you choose between them, and what steps to take once you've decided. A key element in taking those steps which relate to jobs and careers is also to understand what employers are looking for.
We're obviously aware that people think about these things in different orders and start at different times in their lives, so, for help which takes account of whatever stage you're at in your thinking, go to our What Next pages.
Finally, see How We Can Help for advice on using the Careers Service and seeing a careers consultant and also for an outline description of all the services we offer - we're here to help.
