Effective Leadership Module
This module is designed for any member of University staff, in any capacity, who has, or anticipates having, people management responsibilities. The module takes place over 6-7 months and is centred around 7 face-to-face workshops. The topics and concepts covered mirror those that are usually only seen in programmes aimed at senior managers. The principle, here, is that, not only will earlier exposure to these ideas better prepare you for leadership roles, but that much of what is covered will assist your career progression. The module is free for University staff, but numbers are limited and participation will be on a competitive basis. When applying for a place on the module, you will be asked to write a 200 word statement on your reasons for applying. Participants are expected to commit to attending all workshops, 1:1 mentoring and coaching, and to take part in online discussions as well as keeping a personal learning log. A number of short pieces of reflective writing, produced during the course, contribute towards a final assessed portfolio.
Dates of workshops for Current Cohorts: Cohort 9 (Apr 2017)
