Cycle Power helps Textile Tutor

Velo Teifi Cycle Club pedal power generated energy for the Lifelong Learning Textiles tutor, Carys Hedd, to make fish tea cosies from recycled materials donated by University staff. By pedalling the energy generating static bicycle, the cyclists powered the sewing machine used to make the tea cosies.

 

 

 

 

 

Less physical activities were available for the public to take part in such as quizzes, painting and drawing cartoons.

 

The ‘under the sea’ display of crabs, sea louse and star fish which fascinated the members of the festival going public. Run by members of IBERS from Aberystwyth University, the public could learn about the sea creatures and also contribute to the University research project investigating the life styles of our local crab population.
