Physics Pathway and DDA Parking

Estates staff produced a design for a new pathway to the main entrance of the building and a new DDA parking space. Our intention was to deliver something that gave us the 'wow factor' for students so block paviers were chosen over tarmac for the path and gabions for the surrounding walls of the DDA parking area. A new intelligent external lighting scheme was also introduced as part of the project.

Carwyn James Vet Hub Enabling Works

This project included the refurbishment of a number of rooms and toilet facilities within the building. The works ranged from some minor alterations in some areas to a full refurbishment of other rooms. The work was required as enabling works prior to the bigger Vet Hub scheme which will see the introduction of controlled laboratory facilities and is likely to start in 2019.

Hugh Owen DDA parking and pathways

Project Staff were asked to create a scheme for DDA parking and level access into the Hugh Owen levels B & C. The chosen route was at the rear of the building and was developed in conjunction with our Grounds Manager to be as sympathetic as possible to the surrounding trees and shrubs. Through careful planning and installation, the new pathways have been introduced whilst retaining the “woodland walk” environmental feel.

Residential Projects

Work undertaken on residential blocks this Summer include a new fire alarm system, installation of self-test emergency lighting, redecoration and general upgrade works.
