Role of the Court
The role of the Court is set out as follows in clause XIV of the Charter:
There shall be a Court of the University. The role of the Court shall be to provide a public forum for communication and discussion of the University’s activities. The composition and functions of the Court shall be as provided by Ordinance.
Ordinance 21 sets out the composition of the Court.
The Court will hold its annual meeting at 10.00am on Friday, 23 March 2018, at the Cinema, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Aberystwyth University.
The order of the meeting will be as follows:
- Welcome address by the Chancellor, Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.
- Report on the work of the University by the Chair of Council, Dr Emyr Roberts.
- Address by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Elizabeth Treasure, on developments at the University during 2017.
- Presentation by Prof Christopher Thomas, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research), on Spatial Ecology in Africa.
In keeping with previous years, there will be an opportunity for Court members to ask questions following each of the above items.
Tea and coffee will be served at the end of the meeting.
