Why has the decision been made to cancel the graduation ceremonies scheduled for the 14th – 17th July 2020?
Due to the global Coronavirus outbreak, a decision has been made to postpone Aberystwyth University’s July 2020 graduation ceremonies.
When will the rescheduled ceremony dates be available?
2020 ceremonies will now take place in the summer of 2021.
Precise dates for 2021 have yet to be confirmed, but everyone at the University looks forward to welcoming those of you who are due to graduate this year back to Aber next year to join you as you celebrate your achievements.
Whilst this year’s physical celebrations might be on ice, we can confirm that those of you who are due to be graduating this summer will receive your final degree certificates and transcripts in mid-August. To facilitate this, please make sure your personal details, including home address, have been updated on your student record.
When will I need to register for the rescheduled ceremonies?
Once the new ceremony dates are confirmed, students will be informed of the timescale for registration.
I have a booking to stay in University managed accommodation during the postponed ceremonies, how do I arrange for a refund ?
Our Conference Office team will be in contact with those individuals who have to booked to stay in University accommodation. In the interim, if you have any queries, please contact the Conference Office on 01970 621960 / email@example.com.
Does the postponement of graduation impact on the awarding of my degree?
It is important to stress that our decision does not impact on the University awarding you your degree. Provided you meet the requirements of your course we will confer your degree at a University Examination Board as is our normal practice.
